Barely There....

The message from the runway through New York and London Fashion week has been “less is more”. The minimalist trend is taking over!
A far cry from the stern lines of the military/utility trend that reigned supreme in fashion weeks past; fashionistas the world over will be happy to see silk, chiffon in billowy, relaxed designs.
In my corner of the world I’m over-feeling (yes, Over-Feeling (for emphasis)  the whole laid-back chic thing. It’s hot most days of the year with 30-something degree (centigrade) temperatures. We’ve been lucky: lucky because global warming means we get unending rain and temperature drops to a cool 20-something degrees**. Which means we get to wear knits, jellies, neutral tones, and leather... you’ve got to live here to understand my excitement.

Anyways... NYFW, LFW thank you for the soft lines and the SS11 tips!

**(it may not seem like much, apply it to your age... big difference huh?!)

Life in the back seat...

So Vogue's Fashion's night out, New York and London Fashion week.

If you know your fashion onions, September is on every fashionistas style calendar. I to (my disappointment) am missing out on the whole shabang! I've been blog and tweet surfing for any kind of update on what's going to be hot in SS'11. I refused to be told: I'd much rather read it for myself thank-you (it'll suck less).

As physically ill as being unable to attend ANYTHING makes me, I console myself with the fact that I was able to accidentally bump into the Carnaby Catwalk a showcase of clothes and accessories stocked by the brands we love on one of London's most fashionable streets.

I know I know... but something is better than nothing, right?
